Book Reviews

‘The best moments in reading are when you come across something - a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things - which you had thought special and particular to you. And now, here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out, and taken yours.’ Alan Bennett

“Many a book is like a key to unknown chambers within the castle of one’s own self.” ― Franz Kafka

Wish I Was Here....

In conjunction with the launch of her new book 'Reaching for the Stars', author Janice Horton is hosting a 'Wish I Was Here...' party on her blog

In ‘Reaching for the Stars’ the main character Chef Finn McDuff feels he's had enough of all the food campaigns, the TV cookery shows, the constant frenzy surrounding his private life and disappears into a self-imposed exile for a while. Hence the theme of Launch Day is 'Wish I Was Here...'

You can join in on your blog or on twitter, using the hashtag #starchef, and Janice is @janicehorton on twitter.

My choice is...

New Zealand

So many places there that I love. The one I have chosen is a beautiful beach we stopped at as we were driving down the South Island towards Kaikoura. It was gorgeous, warm, quiet, and provided a superb vista on to the ocean.

Where do you wish you were...?
