Book Reviews

‘The best moments in reading are when you come across something - a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things - which you had thought special and particular to you. And now, here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out, and taken yours.’ Alan Bennett

“Many a book is like a key to unknown chambers within the castle of one’s own self.” ― Franz Kafka

Simon and Schuster Bloggers Event

This week I was lucky enough to attend an event for book bloggers at Simon and Schuster publishers in London, where we met four authors (three of them debut novelists) and we were able to submit questions for them to be asked, hear their answers to these, and then chat with them afterwards and receive a copy of their novels to take home and read. This is the first time I've been to such an event, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was wonderful listening to the authors speak, to hear a little about how they write, their thoughts about writing, and great to have the opportunity to chat to them afterwards. I am looking forward to reading the novels very much indeed. It was lovely to meet some fellow book bloggers too! Additionally it was great visiting a publishers premises, being surrounded by wonderful books, and meeting some of the team working there to bring all these books to us. Thank you very much to them all for this event.
