Book Reviews

‘The best moments in reading are when you come across something - a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things - which you had thought special and particular to you. And now, here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out, and taken yours.’ Alan Bennett

“Many a book is like a key to unknown chambers within the castle of one’s own self.” ― Franz Kafka

W...W...W... Wednesday

A day late, I know! A weekly meme hosted by Should Be Reading.

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…
• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?
I'm reading 'Everything and Nothing' by Araminta Hall. I've actually had it on my to be read pile for awhile, and it's now been chosen as one of the autumn reads in the Richard & Judy book club.
I'm also reading 'The Obscure Logic of the Heart' by Priya Basil, for the Transworld Book Group Reading Challenge.

What did you recently finish reading?
I finished reading 'Blow on a Dead Man's Embers' by Mari Strachan. This was a lovely read, very well written, about a woman with an awful lot to cope with in the period just after World War I. It is set in Wales. Recommended. I have reviewed this here on my blog. I have the author's first novel, The Earth Hums in B Flat, on my to be read pile and I would like to get around to reading it soon.

What do you think you'll read next?
I might read 'Next to Love' by Ellen Feldman, although this could change! I have several books to read and review, this is one of them. Looking forward to it.
