Book Reviews

‘The best moments in reading are when you come across something - a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things - which you had thought special and particular to you. And now, here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out, and taken yours.’ Alan Bennett

“Many a book is like a key to unknown chambers within the castle of one’s own self.” ― Franz Kafka

Book Blogger Hop hosted by Crazy for Books

I am taking part in the Book Blogger Hop this week, hosted by Crazy for Books. If you have visited before, thanks for coming back, and if you are hopping through, thank you and hi!

Click here for the link to this week's Hop:

The question this week is:

“Let’s talk crazy book titles! Highlight one or two (or as many as you like!) titles in your personal collection that have the most interesting titles! If you can’t find any, feel free to find one on the internet!”

I think one of the most interesting titles I have on my to be read pile is Captain Bligh's Portable Nightmare by John Toohey, about the mutiny on the Bounty ship and how Captain Bligh had to navigate a small boat with the men who had stayed loyal to him after the mutiny by Fletcher Christian and somehow bring them to safety. I've read a couple of books about the Mutiny, and I love the title of this one.

Also interesting is Started Early, Took My Dog, quite an unusual title I thought, for Kate Atkinson's latest mystery featuring detective Jackson Brodie. I love this series and also enjoyed the recent tv adaptation.
